Interview with Pastor Happy Caldwell about new CD release “Unlikelies”
Blake sings “Unlikelies” live
Hi Everyone this is Blake’s wife, Jenna.
I wanted to post on the website about Blake’s recent accident with a 4Wheeler rollover. You can follow my facebook for the play-by-play updates: Jenna Facebook and his too:Blake Facebook
The rollover happened around 4pm Saturday March 16. He was rushed to an ER in TX and they performed emergency surgery that night on his arm in Amarillo. In summary, he has 2 fractures in his humorous bone in the upper arm and an oblique fracture in his radius (lower arm). The rollbar on the 4Wheeler broke his arm in 3 places and they had to put a metal rod in his upper arm and a metal plate in his lower arm. He is doing well but the pain level is still very high. He also, during surgery, had a tube down his throat for the anesthesia so we are praying there will be no side effects to his vocal cords from that. So far, it seems nothing is abnormal except being hoarse from all the meds and surgery and lack of sleep.
We appreciate all the outpouring of support and kind words and prayers! If you’d like to contact Blake to offer any words of encouragment we set up an email for this reason at: nbbolerjack @ gmail.com
He is home now in OKC, resting, and his mom is here helping me with food and support and housework. We are so blessed with family and friends right now. His concert schedule will resume Sunday April 14 in Meno, OK.
Blessings, Jenna
**Update 4.3.13 –
From Jenna: Blake is doing well! He is up and around and his pain is manageable. He is working hard at Physical Therapy to regain full use of his arm and hand. We have a long road ahead but we are full of joy that God will use this event to teach us to trust Him even more.
I was excited as I saw this project began to take form. I strove to combine different sounds and styles that have inspired me from my roots. This CD includes my deep Southern Gospel influences but also embraces the sweet tones of Jazz, moving and intricate Classical, sincere Praise and Worship, energetic Country, and old spirituals. It’s just great “Christ-Praising-Music”. I’m excited to share an end result that offers such an eclectic combination of songs but still rings with cohesion. Mixing these genres together has satisfied my one ever present goal: To uplift the name of Christ Jesus; to encourage and challenge the family of God and point everyone to our Savior.
This album is an “Unlikely” pairing of songs with a mutual end, to exclaim “This is How it Feels to Be Free” and “I’m Still Amazed”! I’m no longer “Bound” in death and sin but that life with Jesus gets “Sweeter As the Days Go By”. He is our “Faithful God”, apart from whom “I Can’t Even Walk” without him holding my hand. These songs have helped me express myself and more effectively share my testimony of God delivering me from strongholds in my life and finding redemption through Him. My heart and prayer is that this music will help you embrace and outwardly express who you are in Christ, and point you to the source of the answer to “what is truth?”: Jesus Christ.
Enjoy the video blog below which contains photos and videos of the recording process and my thoughts on the songs.
